North Shore Country Club

This Chicago North Shore Country Club was ready for a change, and the charge was to expand the club’s footprint while honoring the character and history that define it. The new addition was envisioned not as a departure, but as a thoughtful continuation.

Our team approached the project with a preservation-minded lens, salvaging and reanimating many of the club’s existing furnishings. Original upholstery was carefully restored, and a cherished wallcovering was meticulously removed, reframed, and reinstalled as a decorative artifact within the new spaces. These gestures anchor the addition in memory, allowing the past to remain present.

Layered alongside these inherited elements are newly designed and custom pieces that bring a sense of ease and refinement. Custom-designed ceiling fixtures establish a cohesive rhythm throughout, while the dining area serves as a focal point, featuring a bespoke ceramic bar and hand-painted murals that lend warmth and artistry to the room. Bathed in natural light from expansive windows and oriented toward sweeping views of the golf course, the addition feels open, inviting, and deeply connected to its setting.
