The Nest

In designing an object to sit on I wanted to design a chair that emulated the way I sit most often with my feet tucked up to my side. This position recalls the memory of how my younger brothers and I would sit in "the nest" of my mom's legs when we were little. The full chair was created utilizing stack lamentation with poplar wood. After stacking wood and cutting out approximate shapes for each layer, I then used a combination of grinder, hand tools, and sanding to shape the seat into its final form.
